fairness is relative...

I believe one of the most annoying and irritating thing I have ever heard is a pro-Israeli or Zionist complain to Al-Jazeera about fair journalistic representation. If there is any news agency in the world that knows about fair representation and balanced journalism, it is Al-Jazeera. But the fact that the Palestinians are even mentioned in an article is an outrage for those who are pro-Israeli, especially if they claim to be Israeli. For these people, it's all about the American Media which reports the whopping 4 Israeli deaths in the past week while neglecting to mention the 464 Palestinian deaths and 2000 casualties during the same time period.

I'd say life isn't fair to these ridiculous people who support Israel but how can you reason with a group of people who wholeheartedly believe 4 Israeli deaths equals 464 Palestinian deaths. In what world could 4 possibly equal 464? Well, Israel is a country that breaks more than rules of numerical equality after all...take for example the 68 UN resolutions that Israel is in direct violation of*. Oh but I forgot to mention, it's completely fair for Israel to not follow any rules or regulations but it's not fair if Al-Jazeera mentions the Palestinian death toll. But of course, simple things such as math and UN resolutions are too insignificant for Israel to think about... no no no they do all the thinking with their US-sponsored military and armaments. I mean it's so much easier to pull a trigger than to think about right and wrong, no?

Even more annoying is when you hear an Israeli say that Hamas is finally going to learn its lesson and is getting what it deserved. Firstly, how does killing civilians teach Hamas a lesson? Twenty five percent of the Palestinians that have been killed from this week's Israeli agression alone have been civilians. If anything, Israel is throwing more fuel on the proverbial fire that is anger against Israel. The Israelis who support the use of violence are the real idiots who need to finally learn their lesson. I mean, Since when has invading another country ever worked out for them fools anyway? Sure the 6 day war in 1967 got Israel most of the land it currently occupies but they have not had a days peace since and are still facing strong resistance to this very day. Another example: the Israeli military invasion of Lebanon in 2006 was a complete and utter failure. The fourth strongest military in the world was thwarted by Hezbollah in the south of Lebanon. Tanks, helicopters, smart bombs, even cluster bombs, forbidden by international law**, were ineffective and Israel failed in achieving a single objective for that war. And yet, here they are again, initiating a ground offensive in territory they don't know or control, with people so desperate that they are willing to fight to the end.

The sad part is that Israel has murdered and invaded and occupied and subjugated the Palestinian people for so long that they have erased any chance of being accepted in the region... not to mention all the other arab countries Israel has stepped on to get where it is today... the foot of its own grave. Even if Israel were to thwart Hamas, the irreparable damage to Israel's foundations has been done. More people than ever around the world have witnessed and denounce Israel's policys and actions. The sad part is, the Israeli Occupiers are so shortsighted that they can't see that no matter what they do from this point on, they will never be accepted as a legitimate state in the region, and that Israel will go down in history as an illegitimate imperialistic entity that has commited crimes against humanity.

Most ironic of all, the Israeli's and Palestinians are reliving the story of David and Goliath, except the roles have reversed where Israel is Goliath. And we all know who wins out at the end of that story...
